Faithbook: 3 Steps for Attaining the Goal of Scrapbooking Your Faith

Goals, goals, goals, you hear about them everywhere–especially at the beginning of the year. All year, it seems TV infomercials have the solutions to your goals.

Whether you want to lose weight, increase your finances, or create a book about God’s presence in your life, usually all you have to do is follow these three steps. Check them out.

Step #1. Determine what it is you want to do (your goal)

What is your goal? Is it to lose weight, increase your finances, or create a spiritual legacy? Most of us have the first two goals at some point in our lives.

However, fewer will feel the call or desire to create a Scrapbook about their Faith.

But, the Bible tells us: “But watch out! Be very careful never to forget what you have seen the LORD do for you. Do not let these things escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.” Deuteronomy 4:9 (New Living Translation)

Since you’re reading this article, chances are you do want to pass on to your children and grandchildren the things God has done in your life. You want to create your Spiritual legacy to influence the lives of those you love and those who will follow you.

Your goals may include:

* Creating a scrapbook about scriptures

* Assembling a Christmas book

* Creating a scrapbook about travel

* Making layouts which include stories of Faith in your life

* Combining pictures, scriptures, prayers and stories of faith

Step #2 Decide How to Do

Think through your goals. What are the ways you can accomplish these? For goals about losing weight or increasing your finances, you may start by Googling your area of interest.

In creating a scrapbook about your Christian faith, you may begin the same way. Search for specific scriptures through

Once you have collected your information, you are ready to take action.

Step #3 Take Action

In order to accomplish any goal, we have to take action.

It’s almost embarrassing the number of “shape-up fitness” DVD’s which I have collected through the years. Notice the word “collected.” Without using these videos they are worthless. They just collect dust.

Perhaps you believe that you found the answer to getting healthier. You ordered “Product Healthy-Me.” When it arrives, you begin to use the “Healthy-Me” equipment, rub the “Healthy-Me” cream on your body, and read the “Healthy-Me” diet book.

OK, so that may be a bit silly. But this little example describes taking action. However, if you’re like me, maybe you have at some time in your life, bought an item and never used it. You never took action on the goal you had for that product.

Let’s face it, sometimes, getting started is the hard part.

I’ve found one thing that helps me– to pray before I begin my project.

In creating the physical book, you may begin by selecting the photos you want to use, or the special scripture, or writing a story about something you know God did in your life.

So now when you’re all prayed-up, put one foot in front of the other and take action!
